DVD Creation

To create a DVD you need to prepare your resources and then bring them all together in a DVD authouring application. A number of different programmes are shown for each part of the process so you can try alternatives if you run into trouble.

There are 3 main stages of creating a DVD

  • Creating your Mpeg2 files
  • Creating Subtitle Files (optional)
  • Creating a DVD with menus (optional) with this resources in a DVD authouring programme.

Working with Subtitles

Subtitles on DVDs are overlayed as image streams. This means that you have to use a tool to convert them back to text before you can start to edit or translate them. The are a couple of tools to do that.

You may also wish to edit or translate subtitles and you'll need a subtitle editing programme to do that.
