Creating an Ogg Theora file in SUPER
Importing your video file into SUPER
Start the program you should see a screen like this.
The suggested way to add a video file is to drag and drop a file from windows explorer into the white box at the bottom of the window.
To open a window explorer window you can Right hand click on your start menu and select Explore from the options.
When you have browsed to the file you want to encode you can drag and drop it into the white box at the bottom of the SUPER encoder programme.
Change the Output settings
Select the Ogg setting from the drop down menu "select output container".
The other Output Video Codec and Output Audio Codec should change to theora and vorbis.
Choose Aspect ratio
Then choose the frame size you want your video to be.
You may need to click in the More tick box if you don't see the options you want. You may need to tick more than once.
For high quality 640 : 480 is good size for 4:3 ratio video. And 640 : 368 for anamorphic 16:9 video. if you want
For medium quality 320 x 240 is normal for 4:3 ratio 368 x 208 for 16:9
Then you may want to increase the Bitrate setting in the Video section from 500 to 1200 or so depending how high quality you want your Video to be.
Putting on a de-interlace filter is very important if you are encoding at file from Camera or from a self-made DVD.
To do this click on the
Button. And tick the Deinterlace button in the window that appears.
You can click on the O button again to make that window dissappear.
Encoding
When you have set all your Encoding options if you want to you can queue up more than one file to encode. These are listed in the white box at the bottom of the window. Just drag more files into this window to queue them up.
You also need to choose a place to save your output file. To do this right click on the main window and select Output File Saving Management from the list.
Choose a location on your computer where you have enough space for the output file. It shouldn't be too big
We are now ready to encode the file.
Click on Encode (Active Files) on the bottom left of the screen to start this process.
