Create a flv file with Super Encoder
Using Super Video Encoder
Importing your video file into SUPER
Start the program you should see a screen like this.
The suggested way to add a video file is to drag and drop a file from windows explorer into the white box at the bottom of the window.
To open a window explorer window you can Right hand click on your start menu and select Explore from the options.
When you have browsed to the file you want to encode you can drag and drop it into the white box at the bottom of the SUPER encoder programme.
Changing the Encoding settings
To make a flv file that can be streamed online we need the following settings
Output container : flv
Output Video Codec: Flash Video
Output Audio Codec: mp3
You change these by selecting the options from the drop down menus at the top of the programme window.
They are marked in Red, Green and Blue respectively.
Video Settings: The default settings are good but you might need to resize the video if it is full screen to make it quarter screen. For PAL encoded videos which are used in Europe this is 352 x 288, for NTSC this is 352x240.
Video Settings: The Aspect ratio is like to be 4:3 if it is a video that has been produced for TV or a non movie DVD. So you may want to change that.
Video Settings: The bitrate is quite low at 228 kps. This is good because we want people to beable to view this file real time as they look at a web page.
Audio Settings :The default settings should work fine but you might want to increase the audio quality to 64 kps.
Encoding
When you have set all your Encoding options if you want to you can queue up more than one file to encode. These are listed in the white box at the bottom of the window. Just drag more files into this window to queue them up.
You also need to choose a place to save your output file. To do this right click on the main window and select Output File Saving Management from the list. Ignore the setting on this
Choose a location on your computer where you have enough space for the output file. It shouldn't be too big
We are now ready to encode the file.
Click on Encode (Active Files) to start this process.
Select ftp and enter the video title in the META TAG box. Click Ok
When the encoding process begins you should see a progress bar. When it has finished, if you don't see any error messages then check in the output locations for your flv file.
